The Chéserex Festival of Traditional Jazz was founded in 1975 by a group of jazz fans.

Our first concert featured the famous Old School Band, plus two jazz bands who are renowned in the Geneva region : the Vieux Carré and the Dippermouth Jazz Band, all of whom have been back to Chéserex several times over the past thirty years, as have many other bands.

We have been honoured to welcome top-ranking bands and musicians such as Chris Barber, Claude Luter, Bill Coleman, Memphis Slim and The Stars of Faith, not to mention many other bands both from Switzerland and abroad, all representing the traditional New Orleans style of jazz.

In 2004 we celebrated our 30th Anniversary : the venue and organisation were not exactly the same as before (we now have a new village hall!) but the enthusiasm was still there...
